Dave: Trevor,  your game has shown considerable improvement over last season.   Can you tell us what you did in the off season to be ready for this season?
TE:  I hired a personal trainer for conditioning and followed the plan Columbus gave me for the rest.

Dave:  What is the hardest thing for you to try to improve?
TE:  Improving my skating has been the biggest challenge.

Dave: I understand you have trained with Jody Shelley.  What are your feelings about him?  Have you ever fought and if so, what was the outcome?
TE:  Its great to see how Jody paid his dues playing in the East Coast League
through the American league, and his an NHL heavyweight.  Yes, I have fought
Jody and the outcome was a pretty even tilt.

Dave:  What are the details of your contract? ( not necessarily the money you earn, but who is your contract with and when does it end)
TE:  One year contract with Syracuse with options from Columbus at the end of
the season.

Dave: What goal have you set for yourself for playing your first NHL game.
TE:  To have a few tilts!

Dave: Tell us about your switch from defense to wing…whose idea was it and how difficult has that been?   Which position do you prefer?
TE:  The idea came from Columbus and I prefer wing.   It was not a hard move for me.

Dave:  What was it like to score your first AHL goal?
TE:  Felt great, but I didn't really see it!  :-)

Editors note:  See it  here!

Dave:  Who is the toughest man you have fought?
TE:   Kenny Tasker

Dave:  What was the worse beaten you have taken?    Worse you have handed out?
TE:   That is really hard to say,  I have had a lot of fights!

Dave:  The fights with Sean McMorrow have been classic!   What is your feeling about him?  Do you hate each other?   Mutual respect?   Do you talk to him off the ice?
TE:   I have not talked with him off the ice, but the feelings are good,  yes, mutual respect!

Dave:  There are a lot of fighters in the league that like to sucker punch and back jump to gain advantage - Why  have we never seen you do that?
TE:  I always fight toe to toe ... I respect the guys I fight.

Dave:  Which Crunch player impresses you the most?

  a)      on the ice - Butchie

 b)      off the ice - Manifold

Dave:   You are very popular here in Syracuse.    I understand a fan repainted an action figure in your likeness.   Fans wear your name on their jerseys,   want your pictures, scream your name from the stands.   How does that make you feel?   Is it a good feeling, or do you sometimes want to tell us to “get a life” :-)
TE:   I really enjoy the fan support in Syracuse!

Interviewers note:   I would like to thank Trevor Ettinger for taking the time to do this interview.  Special thanks to Andrea for the pics and making it happen!.
