Sean Pronger Chat

Syracuse Crunch center Sean Pronger entered the AHL chat room on Thurs., Mar. 7, at 1:00 p.m. EST. In four games last week, Pronger recorded two goals and six assists for eight points as the Crunch extended their unbeaten streak to seven games with three wins and a tie.

Looby:: I'm a big fan of yours and I still follow you even though I now reside in Sheffield England. I have two questions I've wanted to ask for a while. Do you dye your eyebrow yourself or does your wife do it for you,and Is it true that she runs your show?

Sean Pronger: No, I don't dye the eyebrow, it's my natural colour. And yes, my wife does run the show

Shannon Kelly:: Hey Sean, I remember your from when you played in Providence here. How are you enjoying syracuse, and do you miss it here in Providence at all?

Sean Pronger I am enjoying it in Syracuse. The people here are nice, and the organization has been good to me. But I do miss Providence. I really enjoyed my time there.

Geoff Earle:: What was it like to play in Winnipeg and which city do you like better, Winnipeg or Syracuse (i'm from Winnipeg) Thx.

Sean Pronger: It was a lot of fun to play in Winnipeg, because I had a lot of friends and family, who were able to come and see me play. It was a lot of fun being close to my hometown of Dryden. The fans in Winnipeg treated me very well.

Mary Dekker:: Is Chris your older brother? Who's the better looking one?

Sean Pronger: Chris is my younger brother....and I am the better looking one (laughs)

Dave:: Sean Congrats on a great season. You have played with every forward on the Crunch this season due to injuries and massive callups...what is your favorite line combination?

Sean Pronger: Favorite line combo? That's a tough question. We've been jumbling our lines all year, using different combinations every night... Sometimes, I get mixed up myself

Erik: : Sean, how do you think the Crunch will fare in the playoffs with veterans like J.F.Labbe, Derrick Walser, David Ling and Darrel Scoville

Sean Pronger: I hope we do well. We have a good group of veteran guys, but we still have 16 games left in regular season to worry about

Alex: : Hey Sean, Congradulations. I just have one quick question. Does it bother you at times that your younger brother is an NHL superstar while you are bouncing up and down the NHL and the AHL? Thanks and Congradulations again!!!!

Sean Pronger: No, it doesn't bother me. I'm real proud of him (brother Chris of the St. Louis Blues). It's not everyone who can say they have a brother playing in the NHL. And it's fun to call him up and talk to him after games

Jimbo Robinson. Nanaimo, BC:: Sean, being a player on 'the bubble' as far as the NHL is concerned, have you ever considered playing in Europe?

Sean Pronger: Yes, I have considered playing in Europe..and I probably will when I'm done playing here. It's just a matter of deciding when the right time is to do it.

Ted:: How is the injury to Derrick Walser? Do you think Houda did that intentionally? !

Sean Pronger:We play Houda play 5 times in our last 16 games. A a lot can happen

Scott in Syracuse: : Hi Sean. Congratulations! First, what do you think has been the Crunch's secret this year to stay on top despite all the injuries and callups. Secondly, do you think the team needs an enforcer right now with the way teams have been taking libertys with you guys lately? Thanks

Sean Pronger:I'd say playing as a team has been the biggest thing The guys stay within the system and do their jobs (On getting an enforcer) I don't know. This time of year, the wins are more important. As long as we have guys sticking up for each other, we'll be alright. I don't know if we need a heavyweight

Lisa Kovac:: Who are some of the toughest defensemen in the AHL that you play against?

Sean Pronger:That's a real tough question. I'd probably say Aris Bromanis from Cincy is one. Drew Bannister from also from Cincy would be another, but there a lot of good d-men in the league.

Yacky:: Hey Sean. Don't know if you heard but the Dryden Eagles won the Norwossa Championship Tuesday night in Dryden which means they are off to Ofssaa March 19th. Any words of encouragment for the team?

Sean Pronger:Dryden...yes, go down there and win the championship

Alison:: Hi Sean, I'm a fan from Syracuse. I was just wondering how you feel about being called up to Columbus all of the time, even though you are the captain. Does this create a problem?

Sean Pronger: No, it's not a problem. We have a lot of leaders, David Ling, Darryl Scoville, and Matt Davidson, who can pick up the slack.

Glenn S:: Sean, the hit that Derrick Walser took last night. Was it a cheap shot or a good legal hit? I could not see it last night from my vantage point.

Sean Pronger:I really couldn't tell from where I was, but the guys said it was a pretty clean hit.

Bill Graboski:: Hey Sean, greetings from Dryden. Just wandering if we'll see you again at the DRYDEN OPEN this summer

Sean Pronger:Absolutely

Jonathan :: Do you think they should shorten the season?

Sean Pronger:Yes, I think they shorten the season, because it gets to be a grind, but I'm sure the owners would disagree with me on that.

Phil: What's been the reaction amongst your teammates to the passing of Bryan Fogarty?

Sean Pronger: I don't even know if the guys know about it and I don't know what he (Fogarty) was doing down there, but it's definitely tough when a young guy like that passes away

Moderator: This ends our chat with Sean Pronger.
