The Jeremy Reich Interview
January 24, 2002
Dave: What do you credit most for the team’s current hot streak?
JR: I would have to say everybody believing in the systems and playing together.
Dave: How do you like playing on “The Crash Line II” with Bellefeuille and McDonell?
JR: It's great, we are all really good friends off the ice and play basically
the same style of games. We read off of each other really well on the ice.
Dave: I was looking through some old Hockey cards of you and see you once sported “The Hairstyle of the Gods” – The Mullet! Why would you ever abandon that look!? (note: interviewer has a Mullet! )
JR: I think it was a phase awhile ago for hockey players, but you don't see
many these days playing hockey.
Dave: You have suffered injuries that have kept you out of the lineup for an extended time in both of you first two seasons with the Crunch. How do you deal with the frustration?
JR: You just have to keep focus and work as hard as you can to make sure you
are ready when you get back in the lineup. It's hard at times watching
from the stands but injuries happen and you must deal with them properly
Dave: I know in training camp players often fight teammates in practice. How serious are these fights and who did you tangle with in camp?
JR: The fights in training camp are serious, but players don't hold it
against each other off of the ice. I myself didn't fight with anybody this
year.
Dave: Did you ever fight someone you wished you hadn’t? (worse beating you have ever taken)
JR: I don't go into games hoping that I don't fight this person or that
person, if it happens it happens, that's part of the game. I kind of wish
I hadn't of fought the guy in Norfolk that I broke my hand over.
What is your favorite:
Local Restaurant
Joey's
TV Show: Seinfeld

Dave: Who is your best friend on the team/person you spend time with?
JR: I hang out with a number of guys. There are five or six guys I hang out
with on a regular basis who live in the same apartment complex as I do.
Dave: Do you have a nickname? (other than JR)?
JR: Not really
Dave: What is your personal goal or timetable for playing your first game in the NHL?
JR: I would like to play as soon as I can, and I hope it is very soon,
within the next year or so.
Dave: What do you do when not playing hockey?
JR: like to go to movies, play golf , and hang out with the guys
Dave: What do you want to do when your playing days are over?
JR: I hope to stay involved with the game somehow. Perhaps coaching
or scouting. |
